Just to follow up on my last post. I ran the numbers for a few players and last year and found the following: - Ovy would have been significantly more valuable than any other skater (42 points better than Crosby) - Evander Kane (pro-rated to 82 games) would have been more valuable than Patrick Kane (also pro-rated to 82 games) - David Backes would have basically been even with Giroux (less than a 5 point difference) - Milan Lucic would have been more valuable than Backstrom, who had a 78 point season, by over 40 points
So, after having run a few numbers, it appears that player values are a bit out of whack compared to real life. I'd suggest chopping the SOG and Hits values in half (.2 for a SOG and .25 for a hit) to bring things closer in line with how it "should" be.

I just think certain secondary categories shouldn't start to overshadow mainstay core scoring categories.

I just think certain secondary categories shouldn't start to overshadow mainstay core scoring categories. burnsy, good point as well. how about we knock SOG and hits down to .2. Maybe goals to 2 as well to balance scorer vs. playmaker?

and knock SHO down to 3 or 4. 5 seems pretty damn high.

I'd leave goals at 3, personally, but agree with all your other recommendations. We should end up with a great set up, looking forward to getting started!

Yeah let's knock those couple categories down like you sai by about half and leave goals at 3 Etc. Good stuff!

Goals (G) 3 Assists (A) 2 Plus/Minus (+/-) 1 Hits 0.2 Powerplay Points (PPP) 1 Shots on Goal (SOG) 0.2
Goaltenders Stat Category Wins (W) 4 Goals Against (GA) -1 Saves (SV) 0.2 Shutouts (SHO) 4
